Sport eXperience opens Danish hub with Institute for Sport Studies

Henrik Brandt and Arno Hermans signing the agreement

Sport eXperience and the Danish Idraettens Analyseinstitut IDAN are joining forces to host the next Scandinavian sports accelerator. In September 2017, 8 sport startups can join the program in Copenhagen with a final event on October 9. All entrepreneurs gather five times of which four times will be in Copenhagen and one time in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Sport eXperience builds the sports innovation bridge between both countries. It’s the first hub and more to follow.

The international growth ambition takes every entrepreneur beyond their own borders. Denmark as well as The Netherlands are leading innovative countries with an international mindset. Arno Hermans, founder Sport eXperience, explains this logical link: “We see many similarities between Denmark and The Netherlands. Cultural as well as concerning innovation, law, legislation and sports. Just look at international football, the Dutch always stand together with the Danish and Irish supporters. This also works from a business perspective. That’s why Denmark functions as an ideal hub for us, but mainly for the sports entrepreneur.”.

Besides the sports accelerator, Sport eXperience will support IDAN to organize the Play the Game conference in Eindhoven in November 2017. “Sport at elite level as well as grassroots level is looking into a rapidly changing playing field, and the city of Eindhoven has a number of enterprises working strategically with the integration of technology, design and know-how in the field of sport. We are quite sure that this very dynamic environment will be of great inspiration to the conference,” says Henrik H. Brandt, director of Play the Game and the Danish Institute for Sports Studies.
